Do the Golden Globes & Oscars even care what the public like to see?

The Reader, Slumdog Millionaire, Frost Nixion & Cadillac Records. Give me a break. Nixon hasn't even broke a million in box office receipts. Plus most of these movies got there nomination before they even hit the theathre. No wonder the viewership for both shows suck. I guess only the critics and the so called high browed people get to give out the awards.
