How do people not in the entertainment business obtain tickets to the Golden Globes or Oscars?

My husband is set to go back to deployment in the coming months, and I want to do something exciting and different for him before he leaves.. He loves Movies/TV and I would love to surprise him with tickets to a award show.. One problem.. I am find ing it hard to get information on going about it... Can You Help?
